Taking Back Our Minds and Our Country

The two antiquated parties, which I refer to as “The Duopoly” [that’s like a monopoly except it’s controlled by two], that dominate American politics have divided and polarized our country. At every turn, they cloud the issues, deceive their constituents, and force into making choices that we don’t want to make – all so that they can stay in control. Ultimately, they have robbed the power of the electorate away from We, The People.

This polarization now prevents many Americans from the ability to even think for themselves. When anyone speaks, first they want to know what political party that person affiliates with. That then becomes the basis for whether or not they will like, dislike, or even consider that person’s views or ideal. Haven’t you done this?

The duopoly has taught us to be intolerant of those from “the other side”. Politics crosses the boundaries of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, culture, upbringing, and much more; and, when you become intolerant of people who are so much like you, it just becomes that much more difficult to build empathy and understand those who are different in any way. Today we’re seeing a resurgence of racism and violence on the streets of America and everyone is asking themselves the billion dollar question, “how do we being coming together?”

I believe it starts with common sense and common ground politics. This is something that The Duopoly fears more than anything and they should. Until now, the loud voices to the far right and the far left have been controlling the narrative. They draw the dividing lines and they force Americans into making a binary choice for our nation’s leadership. I say we should leave those far left and far right voices keep their 20% each, and let’s take the 60% in the middle and move forward using common sense and common ground principles. That mission starts today.

America stands at the intersection of Progress & Liberty. We need both.
So, join me and let’s take back our minds, our political system and our country.
Unity starts here.
